The subtle art of missing out.

Someone once said that when you feel resistant or uncomfortable to change, look at the trees. They change colours every season and let the leaves fall at their own pace without forcing anything at all. But of course, that's because they are trees and you're not. So on a random Thursda,y I hope you know how much control you have over your life. That you can literally be whatever you set your mind to. You just need to act like it.
I think we really define ourselves through the eyes of the people we give that position to. That if we don't fit in well on their table, we're odd. That if we don't fit into their life, we're not colourful enough. There's always this constant need for validation from behind the walls- and there's always a rope pulling you back because of it. You cannot let go of it, nor can you hold onto it harder. Because it's already been long enough.
So I hope you come to terms with the fact that - there's a certain amount of joy in missing out. When things don't feel right, it's okay to feel like you need to be tucked under the blanket and feel nothing. Absolutely nothing. When you feel the sun's not reaching you close enough, it's okay to chase it without anyone. It's okay to walk on the road not taken alone. It's okay to skip. It's okay to jump over. It's okay to sprint. It's okay to reach some place where you do not see anybody because it’s always been you. It's okay to get on a random train on a random Friday to a random place. It's okay to fill your entire room with unwritten letters and crumpled pieces of notes you are scribbling over and over again.
This is simply to say – so what? You are on your own, and there's so much joy and a subtle, undiscovered whimsy in that.
Let there be the joy of missing out. Create the void. And see who comes to fill in.
Look at the trees and look at your feet on the grass. They are the same - rooted with the earth, on the soil, the life and the resilience. You resemble everything the universe has in store not because you're just made of stardust but because you've come all this way - you need to give yourself credit for that.
And with every season, give yourself a name
name yourself after all the falls
after all the summers and springs
There's something called solitary joy.
Find a name.
And I hope you find it when you see there's so much sunshine that not even the clouds could hide it,
I hope you know you're more than enough
And I hope you see the silver lining, and even if you do not,
I hope you create it.
